The club was selected, as one of the venues to host the Bowls South Africa Inter District Open Championship in
March this year. We received many compliments for our hospitality and the quality of our greens. Seeing the
top bowlers in action, from all around the country was truly an honour. We had fourteen members, from CBC
who were selected to represent BGN in the Inter Districts.
We are so proud of our three junior members who were selected to represent BGN in Bloemfontein. Lolly
Skingle U/20 – Jesse Skingle and Christian Gerber U/15, who won Silver Medals.
In the past few months we have had CBC members achieve success in the following BGN Competitions –
Ladies Midweek Fours was won by Esme Kruger, Ina Fourie, Trudie le Grange and Rolinda Fourie
Alta de Kock, was runner-up in the Open Singles, as were Basil & Trudie le Grange in the Mixed Pairs.
With a view to marketing the club and the game of bowls, we have held many functions with first time bowlers
having fun, both on and off the greens.
